If visibility makes you cringe, you're not alone, but you're also not stuck. Today's spark is a reframe for every founder or leader who doesn't want to be the loudest in the room, but still wants to be heard. Let's talk about building a quietly powerful brand presence that works for you. Welcome back to Morning Cup of Brand Spark. Today is Wednesday, May 28th, and I'm Gina Dunn, founder of OG Solutions.
If the word visibility makes you want to crawl back under the covers, then this one's for you. Because being loud isn't a requirement for being seen. Let's spark it up. Let's break down a myth real quick. You don't have to shout to stand out. You just have to show up in your own voice consistently and clearly. Some of the most magnetic brands out there are not loud,
They're not flashy and they're not posting on LinkedIn 14 times a week. They're strong because they're intentional, they're aligned and they're clear. Visibility in personal branding, it's not about volume. It's about your energy and how you show up. And if you're trying to force a quote unquote bold brand that doesn't match your voice or your vibe, your audience can feel it.
You need to be you, you, you, and you. So here's your spark for the today. Visibility that drains you isn't sustainable. Visibility that reflects you. Now that's where it sticks with your audience. You can be visible by writing with depth or speaking with presence or choosing your moments with clarity. Not everyone.
needs a ring light and a trending soundtrack to grow their brand. Here are three ways to be seen without being loud about it. Number one, choose one powerful platform and go deep in it, not wide. Stop chasing every trend there and then show up where you actually want to lead. If LinkedIn is your place, make LinkedIn your place.
Not Instagram then, choose one. Number two, say something real, please, not something viral that everyone else is telling you to say. Quiet brands get shared when the message hits, not when the format is trying to fix the algorithm. And the third way, use consistency as a way to amplify.
If you only show up when you feel like it, people won't know what to expect from you and when. Now, if you keep showing up in your energy consistently, they'll trust you. So I'm going to give you my personal story. I hate video. Like I full on full body rejected video, but I also built my thought leadership around written content around.
podcasts like this, audio podcasts, around storytelling, and I've been dabbling a bit in video on the side, mainly because I want to get better and more comfortable for personal branding, personal development, not personal branding.
But I'm still getting visibility, but I'm getting visibility, not because I'm getting louder by getting on video, but because I've become also more aligned and I've become more consistent and I've become more confident and more comfortable. It's where it starts. So here's your spark check. Spark one, what visibility move feels authentic to you, but you've been avoiding it for me. That was video. Spark two.
Are you confusing quiet with invisible? There are two very, very different things you guys and spark three. What would happen if you trusted your voice exactly how it is actually, and leaned into it and didn't shy away from having a point of view. So that's your spark for today. You don't need to perform to be powerful. You just need to show up with clarity and keep doing it consistently.
Tomorrow we're going deeper. What visibility means for thought leaders and how to lead without burning out on it. Follow the show and share it with a quiet, a fellow quiet leader who needs to hear it. Talk soon.

Frequently asked
No. According to brand strategist Gina Dunn, the most magnetic brands are not loud or flashy and don't post on LinkedIn 14 times a week. They stand out because they are intentional, aligned, and clear. Visibility in personal branding is about energy and how you show up, not volume. Forcing a bold brand that doesn't match your natural voice is something audiences can detect immediately.
Gina Dunn shares her own example: she built her thought leadership through written content, storytelling, and audio podcasting while avoiding video entirely. She emphasizes three approaches — choosing one powerful platform and going deep, saying something real rather than chasing viral formats, and using consistency to amplify presence. You don't need a ring light or trending soundtrack to grow your brand.
Gina Dunn explicitly calls out this confusion as a critical mindset shift. Being quiet and being invisible are two very different things. A quiet brand that shows up consistently in its own aligned voice still gets seen and trusted. Invisibility happens when you show up inconsistently or not at all — not when you choose a calm, intentional presence over a loud, high-volume strategy.
Consistency signals reliability to your audience. Gina Dunn explains that if you only show up when you feel like it, people won't know what to expect from you or when. But if you keep showing up in your own energy consistently, your audience will trust you. Trust, not volume, is what converts followers into loyal communities and clients for quiet or introverted brand builders.
