So what makes a premium brand feel premium? That's your Sunday bonus drop. Let's finish this weekend going strong. So it's not about your font and it's not about your price. Today's Spark breaks down the three brand signals that make people feel like you're premium before they even see your offer. This one's about building authority, credibility, and trust on site.
Welcome back to Morning Cup of Brand Spark. Today is Sunday, May 25th, and I'm Gina Dunn, founder of OG Solutions. Today's spark is for the founder who wants to raise their rates, but still looks, sounds, or shows up like someone else in their space. Premium isn't just pricing, it's perception. So let's talk about what makes your brand feel worth it. Let's spark it up. Here's the truth.
You can't just slap a $2,000 price tag on something and call it premium. Your audience feels value way before they ever see a num-mute. Your audience feels value way before they ever see the number. Because premium isn't just about being fancy. It's about being clear, confident, and elevated AF. So here's the spark. A premium brand communicates value before you speak.
Not with price, but with presence. Let me repeat that. Not with price, but with presence. If your brand looks basic or boring, or if your messaging is messy, or if your presence feels chaotic or confusing, people aren't thinking, ooh, she's undercharging. They're thinking, she's not ready for me. So there are three brand signals that make you feel
Number one, a crystal clear positioning. You'll hear me say this a lot. Positioning is important for your personal brand or your business brand. Positioning is key foundational. You're not trying to serve everyone. You know exactly who you're here for and you need to say it with conviction. Number two, brand signal.
An authority voice. You don't post for engagement. You post for someone. You post like someone who leads. And the third brand signal that makes you feel premium. That's a consistent presence. I'm talking visuals, vibe, tone, and frequency. Premium brands feel intentional, not scattered or off when busy.
And here's the bonus truth. It's not about how perfect your brand looks. It's about how aligned it feels to someone else. A premium brand generates trust on contact and trust equals more sales. So I once worked with a service provider that had a gorgeous brand and aesthetic, but super vague messaging. His feed was like high end.
but his offers were not clear and his tone, it felt really timid and ultra professional. So we tightened the positioning first, defined a brand promise and real value proposition. We added one bold call out post that said exactly who his work was for and wasn't for. And then the referrals went up and the average sale increased. And why is that?
It's because now he looked ready to lead and not sitting behind. So here's your spark check. Three sparks. Spark one. Is your positioning sharp enough that premium clients know you're for them? Spark two. Are you showing up with confident energy or still figuring it out kind of vibes? And spark three.
Could someone feel your value before they even read a word on your website? Any of the pages on your website.
So that's your spark for today. Remember premium isn't a price. It's a promise. So make sure your brand is actually delivering on that promise. Tomorrow, we're going to wrap up offer week with something quite big. What your brand promise really needs to say. If you want to sell with belief, not just features. So make sure you follow the show.

Frequently asked
According to brand strategist Gina Dunn, three signals make a brand feel premium before price is ever mentioned: crystal clear positioning that speaks directly to a specific audience, an authority voice that leads rather than chases engagement, and a consistent presence across visuals, tone, and frequency. Premium brands generate trust on contact, and that trust translates into more sales.
A gorgeous visual brand can still fall flat if the messaging is vague or the tone feels timid. Gina Dunn shares a client example where a high-end-looking feed failed to convert because offers were unclear and the brand voice lacked confidence. Once positioning was tightened and a bold call-out post defined exactly who the work was for, referrals increased and average sale values rose.
Positioning is described as foundational and key for both personal and business brands. A premium brand doesn't try to serve everyone — it speaks with conviction to a specific audience. When positioning is sharp enough, premium clients immediately recognize the brand is meant for them, which builds the trust needed to justify higher rates and attract better-fit clients.
A premium brand promise is the clear, confident commitment your brand makes to its ideal audience — going beyond features to communicate real value. Gina Dunn emphasizes that premium is a promise, not a price, and your brand must actively deliver on that promise. Without it, even elevated visuals and high price tags won't convince potential clients that you're ready to lead.
