You already know what the brave thing is. Today's Brand Spark invites you to try saying it out loud to a friend, your audience, or you know what, even just to yourself. Voice isn't built through clarity alone. It's built through courage. And let's begin. Good morning. Welcome to your Sunday Spark. This is your morning cup of Brand Spark. I hope you've got a coffee there. And I'm Gina Dunn, your clarity guide.

Today is Sunday, June 22nd. In today's episode, it's quiet. Just a whisper louder than your inner doubt. Clarity is a skill, but bravery, bravery is a decision. So let's spark it up.

So there is something that you wanna say in your brand, but you haven't. You know what it is. The belief, the truth. Maybe it's the way you actually work with people. The piece that might make you seem too much or too abstract in a way. What you're scared to say is usually the thing that the audience needs to hear.

Your voice is practice, not a pillar. Your brand voice is not a bullet point. It's a behavior. You don't unlock it by defining it and just saying, is what my voice is. You unlock it by using it. Say it messy, say it scared, but say it before you're 100 % sure. Because confidence comes after the moment you try. Confidence doesn't come before that. And if you're waiting for that,

You're going to be waiting forever. So let's try it out loud. Here's your experiment today. I'd like you to say the thing. I'd like you to say it out loud. Choose a friend, say it to them. Say it to your voice memo app on your iPhone. Maybe say it to your journal or say it to your audience. Say it in a social post. You actually don't have to publish it.

Gina Dunn02:13

What I want you to do is to hear it coming out of your mouth and in your own voice. When you speak your truth out loud, your brand, it starts listening. So here's your spark reflection today. Spark one, what have you been wanting to say, but holding back? And spark two, what would change if you spoke this one thing out loud?

and Spark 3. How can you honor the version of you that wants to be heard? Because it does. This is where brave brands begin. They begin with truth spoken out loud.

It's not about saying it perfectly. What it's about is saying it anyway. Bravery by itself is not a brand trait. It's a brand muscle and everyone needs it. So that's your spark for today. I'll see you tomorrow.

Frequently asked

According to Gina Dunn, brand voice is built through courage and practice, not just clarity. You don't unlock your voice by defining it — you unlock it by using it. Say it messy, say it scared, but say it before you're 100% sure, because confidence comes after the moment you try, not before it.

Gina Dunn recommends saying the thing you've been holding back out loud — to a friend, into a voice memo app, in your journal, or even in a social post you don't publish. The goal is simply to hear the truth coming out of your own mouth, because speaking it out loud is where brave brands begin.

Gina Dunn explains that people often avoid saying their core truth because they fear coming across as too much or too abstract. The belief or truth they most want to share is usually the thing that scares them — but it's also typically the message their audience most needs to hear.

Bravery is not a fixed brand trait — it is a brand muscle, according to Gina Dunn. Like any muscle, everyone needs it and it grows through repeated use. The practice of saying difficult or vulnerable truths out loud, even imperfectly, is how that muscle gets stronger over time.
