This one is about big picture, founder to founder energy. Because visibility isn't about being seen everywhere. It's about seeing for something. Because visibility isn't about being seen everywhere. It's about being seen for something that matters. Visibility isn't just about algorithms or your posting frequency. It's about how you lead and whether people actually trust what you say to follow you.
Today's spark reframes visibility as thought leadership energy, not performance. Welcome back to morning cup of brand spark. Today is Thursday, May 29th, and I'm Gina Dunn, founder of OG solutions. This one's a reframe for the leaders out there who feel like they have to perform to get seen. You don't need a content calendar. You need clarity. Let's spark it up. Let's zoom out for a second.
You're a founder, you're a leader, you're a big brain human with real experience, but visibility feels massive. It feels heavy and it feels exhausting because everything online feels like noise these days. Constant engagement, endless engagement, constant content, always on energy.
Well, what if I told you that none of those is required to build thought leadership? Here's the spark. Visibility isn't about how often you post. It's about what people remember when they see you post. Thought leadership isn't saying things louder than other people or posting more often or being a visibility machine. It's about clear ideas, consistent values, confident presence.
and a point of view. Visibility as leaders, it's a couple of things. I'm gonna give you three breakdown points. One, are you known for a specific point of view? I'm not talking about a niche, I'm talking about a belief system. Number two, can people reference what you stand for without checking your bio? And number three,
Do you show up like someone who leads or someone who's still proving themselves? There's two things. So, visibility doesn't mean you need to do everything. You don't need to do everything out there like reels and carousels and speaking gigs and TikTok. That can make you feel scattered, even if your message is awesome.
Your energy can be off because you're trying tactics that don't feel like you and they feel overwhelming. What if you stripped it down to just your signature point of view and created some core pieces of content around that point of view? Imagine a weekly newsletter where you get to write about that point of view and one LinkedIn post per week. That's two things a week that you do. The result there is that you will be.
Getting more trust, you will likely have more leads in the long run. You won't be contributing to the noise out there. You'll be sharing your point of view in a way that works. And the best part, if this is on LinkedIn, those two things you're doing a week have, are high value and they will work with the algorithm and you'll be seen even more. Why? People, when people finally know what you stand for,
that will also boost your visibility and as thought leader. So here's your spark check. Spark one, are you building recognition or just reach? Spark check two, is your visibility rooted in service or strategy or is it just performative? Do you have a strategy for what you're doing and is it in service of others or is it just to get business? There's a very different things.
Check this and spark check three. What do you want to be known for? And does your content and point of view reflect that? Is it consistent? So that's your spark for today. You don't need more reach. You need more resonance and that will get you reach. Visibility is just leadership, but made visible. Tomorrow we're talking about.
personal brands and boundaries and guardrails around them. How you can show up without oversharing or burning out, which I'm sure are two things that are in the back of your mind at this point. So hit follow if you liked this episode and thank someone else who's leading quietly, but ready to go a little bit bigger. Talk soon.
Key takeaways & FAQ
Five things to steal
- 01 Visibility means being remembered for something specific, not posting everywhere constantly.
- 02 Thought leadership requires a clear belief system, not just a defined niche.
- 03 Strip your content down to one newsletter and one LinkedIn post weekly for trust.
- 04 People follow leaders who show up with confidence, not those still proving themselves.
- 05 Resonance drives reach — clarity in your point of view amplifies algorithmic visibility naturally.
Frequently asked
According to Gina Dunn, visibility for thought leaders isn't about posting frequency or being on every platform — it's about being known for a specific point of view and belief system. True visibility means people can reference what you stand for without checking your bio, and that you show up with confident presence rather than constantly proving yourself.
Gina Dunn suggests that founders can strip their content strategy down to just two things per week: a weekly newsletter and one LinkedIn post. This focused approach builds more trust, generates leads over time, avoids contributing to online noise, and still works with the algorithm — because high-value content outperforms high-volume content.
Gina Dunn frames reach as surface-level visibility — how many people see you — while resonance is about whether people remember you and trust what you say. Her core argument is that resonance actually drives reach: when people clearly understand what you stand for, that clarity boosts visibility more effectively than chasing algorithms or posting constantly.
Gina Dunn recommends auditing whether your visibility is rooted in service and strategy or is purely performative. She advises leaders to identify their signature point of view and build content around that belief system rather than copying tactics — like reels, carousels, or TikTok — that feel overwhelming or misaligned with their natural energy.
