Episode 33 is that spicy little truth bomb we all need because the DMs are dry. It's probably not the algorithm. It's your energy, your clarity and your call to action. Let's talk about the awkward silence in your inbox because spark today's spark breaks down why your dream clients aren't reaching out and gives you a visible and gives you a visibility energy check to fix just that.
Because if they're not DMing you, it's probably not your price. It's your positioning. Welcome to Morning Cup of Brand Spark. Today is Saturday, May 31st, and I'm Gina Dunn, founder of OG Solutions. Today's spark, it's a spicy one. If your DMs are quieter than you'd like, this might be why. Let's spark it up.
So here's the thing no one wants to say. If no one's DMing you, it's not because you're not good enough. It's because you're not clear enough. Your audience can't take the next step if they're confused about what you offer. If you haven't made it obvious that you're available and if your content feels nice, but forgettable. This isn't about being salesy here. It's about being undeniably crystal clear.
So here's your spark. If your brand presence doesn't invite a conversation, don't be surprised when you don't get one. Here are three reasons your DMs might be dead today. Number one reason, you have no clear CTA. That's call to action. Are you actually telling people how they can possibly work with you? Or are you just vibing or sharing your point of view?
Number two, your messaging is unfocused. Are you giving expert energy or I'm just posting to stay visible energy? They're two very different things. Third reason, you sound like everyone else out there. People don't DM generic. They DM what feels personal, bold or different. Not what is happening out there with trends right now.
Here's some quick fixes. Say what you do in human language. It's a simple one. Share who you love helping and say it really, really crystal clear. And make it easy to message you with a very specific call to action. DM me for XXX and I'll send you XYZ.
So here's your spark check. Spark one. Do people know how to talk to you?
Spark two, would a stranger understand what you offer? And spark three, are you giving scroll energy or connection energy? And that's your spark for today. Your audience wants to connect, but you have to make the first move to make that make sense. Tomorrow we're wrapping up with a quiet power bonus. Three of my favorite visibility moves that don't require constant content and a massive engine. Follow the show if you aren't already. Talk soon.
Key takeaways & FAQ

- 04 Describe what you offer in plain human language a stranger instantly understands
- 05 Connection energy in content outperforms scroll-worthy visibility every single time
Frequently asked
According to Gina Dunn, the most common reason DMs are quiet is lack of clarity, not frequency. If your audience is confused about what you offer, doesn't see that you're available, or finds your content forgettable, they won't reach out. The fix is being 'undeniably crystal clear' about who you help and what you do, not just staying visible.
Gina recommends making your call to action very specific and direct. A simple formula she suggests is 'DM me for X and I'll send you Y.' The key is removing any friction or guesswork — tell your audience exactly what to do and what they'll get in return, rather than simply sharing your point of view and hoping people figure out the next step.
Gina Dunn draws a clear distinction between these two content modes. Expert energy means your messaging is focused, intentional, and communicates clear value to a specific audience. 'Posting to stay visible' energy means your content lacks direction and feels generic. Audiences can tell the difference, and only focused, expert-driven content earns engagement and DMs.
People DM what feels personal, bold, or different — not what blends into trending generic content. Gina Dunn explains that if your brand presence doesn't actively invite a conversation, you won't get one. Dream clients need to clearly understand your offer, feel personally spoken to, and see an obvious, frictionless way to start a conversation with you.
